Andy brings over 40 years’ experience in the ITS sector, during which he has specialised in modelling, connected vehicles, road charging, traffic control, data and communications. Andy works for both public and private sector, notably with vehicle manufacturers, highways authorities and concessionaires.
His track record includes the UK Department for Transport Connected Vehicle Data Strategy, the award-winning Step data platform in York, HGV road charging in Bulgaria, tolling in both Canada and the US, and work for the Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) using in-vehicle data. He is also a founder of VESOS, which mines data from the eCall system.
Andy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution Highways and Transportation, and of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He won the ITS-UK Award for outstanding contribution and is chair of the Rees Jeffreys Road Fund. In 2026, he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year’s Honours list for services to transport.
